Inside the clinic — the lab band

Naturaldent. Croatia's largest dental laboratory — inside the polyclinic.

Every crown, veneer, bridge, prosthesis, and implant superstructure used at Ars Salutaris is milled, printed, and finished by hand at Naturaldent — our in-house CAD/CAM laboratory inside the same building as the clinic. No outsourcing. No three-week wait. No data loss between offices.

Why a clinic-owned lab matters

Most clinics outsource. We don't.

Most dental clinics — including most Stockholm private practices — outsource lab work to external dental laboratories. A crown impression goes by post or courier to a third-party lab, sits in a queue, gets milled by a technician who never sees the patient, and arrives back two to six weeks later. Lab-markup is typically 40–50% of a Stockholm crown's retail price. Every step adds time, cost, and potential for error.

At Ars Salutaris, the lab is in the same building as the surgical suite. Your digital scan goes directly from the chair to the milling station. A ceramist working on your case can walk to the chair-side to check shade match in natural light. Your finished crown can be ready in 5–7 days — fast enough to fit a single 5-day visit to Zagreb. There is no markup chain, no lost-in-shipping risk, and no "the lab sent the wrong shade, we'll need to redo it next month" surprise.

This is the structural reason our prices are 60–70% lower than Stockholm private clinics for the same materials — not lower quality, just no third-party markup.

The technology

Aerospace-grade precision, applied to dentistry.

IMES-ICORE CAD/CAM milling

Computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing on industrial-grade equipment. Zirconia and titanium milled with 5-micron precision — the same tolerance specification used in top-tier aviation, military, and precision-mechanical industries. Every restoration fits the first time.

SISMA 3D printer — Laser Metal Fusion

The most modern dental-industry technology for titanium-ceramic restorations. Titanium copings and frameworks printed by laser metal fusion — a process that builds the metal substructure layer by layer at the atomic level. Stronger, lighter, and more accurate than traditional cast titanium.

High-resolution digital scanners

Intraoral and bench scanners capture your dentition in 3D and pass the data directly into the milling pipeline. No physical impressions, no posting impression trays between offices — the workflow is fully digital from scan to finished crown.

The materials

Biocompatible. Traceable. Renowned global suppliers.

Every material used at Naturaldent is sourced from renowned global suppliers and ships with manufacturer traceability. Each is tested for biocompatibility against the six ISO 10993 toxicity tests and assessed as safe for clinical use.

Zirconia (ZrO₂)

Full-ceramic, metal-free. Biocompatible. No grey gingival line. Used for the majority of crowns and bridges.

Titanium (Grade 4/5)

For implant superstructures and titanium-ceramic crowns. Bio-inert, CE-marked, traceable batch records.

Lithium disilicate (E.max, Ivoclar Vivadent)

Premium veneer and inlay material. Translucent, strong, the European gold standard for cosmetic restorations.

PMMA / acrylic

For temporary prostheses, surgical guides, and try-in restorations.

Biocompatibility verified

Every material in the lab is tested against the six ISO 10993 categories before clinical use:

  • Cytotoxicity
  • Irritation
  • Sensitivity
  • Acute systemic toxicity
  • Hemo-compatibility
  • Genotoxicity

Certified, independently audited

First lab in Croatia with ISO 9001 certification. Continuously re-certified since.

Naturaldent was the first dental laboratory in Croatia to pass ISO 9001:2008 SINCERT certification — a quality-management standard that requires fully documented procedures, continuous quality control, and external audit.

The current certification is ISO 9001:2015 by DNV (Det Norske Veritas) — the same independent international certification body that audits the clinic itself.
